Sheraton Gateway LAX Goes Green

At Sheraton Gateway LAX, we understand the importance of environmental stewardship.  Lodging is the fourth most energy intensive commercial sector in the U.S., so improving our energy efficiency is a critical step in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and global climate change.  Sheraton Gateway LAX is proud to have received Silver-Level certification from Green Seal.  Green Seal Inc. is an independent not-for-profit organization that certifies lodging properties that represent leadership in reducing their impact on the environment and human health.  Sheraton Gateway LAX is honored to help in their efforts in waste minimization, energy efficiency, and water conservation and be a leading green hotel in LA.

Please join our environmental efforts by opting into our Make a Green Choice program.  Participating guests receive a $5 food and beverage coupon or 500 Starpoints® for each eligible night.  

Below are a few of our current sustainability measures.

Energy Savings & Efficiencies 

• All indoor lighting is energy efficient.
• Timers and motion sensors for lighting and HVAC systems in low occupancy areas (i.e. heart of the house, corridors, meeting rooms).
• Make a Green Choice program: Participating guests can save enough electricity to run a laptop for 10 hours and up to 25,000 BTUs of natural gas per night.
• Energy efficient chillers. 

Water Conservation

• Make a Green Choice program: Participating guests can save up to 37 gallons of water each night.

Environmentally Friendly Products & Maintenance

• We have created recycling and composting programs.
• We utilize non-phosphate, nontoxic, biodegradable cleaning products.
• Make a Green Choice program: Participating guests can save up to 7oz. of chemicals each night.
